Rural is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Resource Management Integration Group (Pty) Ltd [REMIG]. The board of Rural comprises of the following members:

  • Chris Bosch – Managing Director
  • Paul Bester – Director
  • Elsa Steyn – Company Secretary

Chris Bosch

  • Registered Professional Electrical Engineer [ECSA]
  • Registered Installation Electrician
  • Graduated from Pretoria University in 1992

After matriculating from the Afrikaans Hoer Seuns Skool, Chris commenced his studies at the University of Pretoria to qualify as an electrical engineer. After completion of his studies, he joined Eskom in January of 1992 as an engineer in training until he resigned in March 1993 to start Rural Maintenance. He has been involved with the Group since founding to date. In addition to his executive duties for the Group, Chris is responsible for Group Technical Services. Chris is also a member of the SAPOA [South African Property Owners Association] Energy Efficiency Task Team and registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa.

Paul Bester

  • Diploma in Bank Credit [Damelin]

Paul matriculated from the Hoerskool Delportshoop, Northern Cape in 1972 afterwhich he commenced a 34 year career in banking from 1973. He started his career with Trustbank [7 years], until he accepted a position with Nedfin in 1979 [currently Nedbank]. In 2004, he resigned from Nedbank [25 years] as Area Manager Commercial, joining Rural as head of Revenue in 2005 after a brief sabatical. In addition to his executive duties for the Group, Paul is responsible for Revenue, Billing and Energy Administrative Services.

Elsa Steyn

  • BA LLB (cum laude) [RAU]
  • Certificate in Advanced Company Law and Securities Law [UNISA School of Business Law]
  • Advocate of the High Court of South Africa

Elsa matriculated from Hoërskool Standerton whereafter she completed a BA(Law) LLB (cum laude) at the Rand Afrikaans University (now University of Johannesburg).  She was admitted as an Advocate in 1994 and served first as a Lecturer and then a Senior Lecturer at the RAU Faculty of Law.  Her involvement with the Group dates back to 1998 and she joined Rural on a full time basis in 2003.  In addition to her company secretarial duties, Elsa acts as Group Legal Advisor.
