Environmental Products
To assist electricity users in acting in an environmentally responsible manner, Rural has compiled a product offering whereby users can actively decrease their electricity consumption without hampering productivity or output. The biggest saving can be found in switching appliances or equipment off when not required.
Rural provides a full range of products, services and guidance to assist users in reducing their electricity consumption, which in turn reduces their carbon footprint, i.e. acting in an environmentally responsible manner. Rural’s products and services [tools] provide assistance to electricity users as follows:
- Know where, when and how much electricity you are consuming.
- Identify areas of potential savings after scrutinizing power profiles obtained in step 1 and conducting site surveys.
- Introduce energy management to areas identified in step 2, i.e. switch off when not in use!
- Replace poor efficiency apparatus with efficient, energy saving alternatives without sacrificing productivity or down time as identified in step 2, i.e. inefficient lights, motors, climate control etc.
- Introduce renewable sources of energy.
- Confirm that savings have in actual fact been achieved by comparing energy profiles from before the initiatives to the energy profiles after.
- Commence with step 1.
The successful conservation of energy is a long term, ongoing process. Energy awareness has to become culture before sustainable effects will be visible. It is therefore the ultimate responsibility of the energy user to realise what damage is being done to the environment and the planet as a whole.
