Location

  • Position 1: Springbok (Northern Cape)

  • Position 2: Pretoria (Gauteng) and/or Frankfort (Free State); and

  • Position 3: Paarl (Western Cape).

Remuneration

The position offers a remuneration bracket of R264’000 - R540’000 per annum cost to company and is based on the candidate's qualifications and experience so assessed by the company at the company's discretion.

Job Scope

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including metering and low and medium voltage infrastructure. This role involves overseeing electrical projects, managing installation teams, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.


Requirements

Candidates that do not qualify for all the criteria listed below are still encouraged to apply. Candidates that can demonstrate self-drive, passion for the field and most importantly the ability to problem solve will be favoured.


  1. Recognised Trade Tested Artisan (Electrical) NQF 5 (mandatory)

  2. Wireman’s licence - installation electrician (strongly recommended)

  3. ORHVS certified (recommended) and subsequent medium voltage operational experience (mandatory)

  4. Proficient as medium voltage cable termination and jointer  (mandatory)

  5. Metering knowledge and experience (mandatory)

  6. Solar installation experience (recommended)

  7. 5 years+ experience in the trade (recommended)

  8. Valid Code B driver’s license (mandatory)

  9. Computer literate (mandatory)


Challenges to be overcome by the candidate

  1. Subsequent internal courses and external certifications to be acquired within 24 months, to fully conform to the “Requirement of Position”.

  2. Must be willing to travel for limited periods of time. 

  3. Compilation and interpretation of single line diagrams

  4. Fault finding on electrical systems

  5. Please note: The remuneration structure shall be as per qualifications and experience,  as assessed by and at the discretion of the Company.


Functions & Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance on electrical infrastructure (Low and Medium Voltage )

  2. MV and LV installations (Underground and overhead)

  3. Work in conjunction with the Consulting and Project design team in order deliver projects on time and according to client's specifications

  4. Compile basic progress reports

  5. Overseeing installation projects from inception to completion  

  6. Management of single/multiple installation team(s) 

  7. Generator installations

  8. General Electrical wiring
